• WHAT SERVICES DO YOU PROVIDE?
I provide dynamic psychotherapy, supportive psychotherapy, and medication management for those suffering from mood and anxiety disorders.
• Will you provide medication management if I am already seeing a therapist?
When I agree to be a co-treating provider with a therapist, I am also agreeing to share medico-legal risk. Because of this, I do not provide services to patients who are already working with another therapist, unless I have already met and/or worked with this therapist previously.
• Do you accept Medicare?
I have specifically "opted out" of Medicare. Please click here for more information.
• How do I make an appointment?
Please call me at (818) 277-9414. I will respond within 24 hours. We will briefly discuss your current situation and then schedule an appointment for an initial evaluation.
• What is the initial evaluation like?
The initial evaluation generally lasts 60-90 minutes. In the Encino office, please press the button located next to my name after entering the waiting room so that I know you have arrived. In the West Los Angeles office, please flip the call switch next to my name.
At the first appointment, the focus will be on obtaining information about your current situation and your history of both medical and psychiatric care. At the end of the session, you will have time to ask any questions you may have. We will also discuss treatment recommendations, which may include medication, psychotherapy, or both.
• Is there anything I need to do to prepare for the first session?
Please fill out the documents in the "Forms" section of the website and bring them to your first appointment. If you were referred by a therapist or another physician, please be sure to complete the "Release of Information" form, as well.
If you are a member of Anthem Blue Cross or United Behavioral Health, please bring a copy of your insurance card.
• How long will I be in treatment?
The answer to that greatly varies, depending on your life history and the circumstances that bring you to treatment. The length and frequency of treatment ultimately depends on your own unique set of goals.
• Where do I park?
There is valet parking available in the building; I do not provide validation.
There is limited 2-hour street parking on the east side of Hayvenhurst Avenue just north of Ventura Boulevard and a very small number of free parking spots on the west side of Hayvenhurst just south of Ventura (with no time-duration restrictions). Please be sure to read all posted parking signs.
There is plentiful metered parking near the office along Ventura Boulevard. Please do not park on the south side of Ventura Boulevard after 3:30PM because it becomes an anti-gridlock zone, and your car will be towed.
The nearby Ralphs and Gelson's parking lots are monitored and are thus restricted to patrons only.
West Los Angeles:
There is both free and metered parking along Sawtelle Blvd. and free parking in the surrounding residential areas. Please read all parking signs carefully because some of the residential areas are permit-parking only or have different parking restrictions even within the same block.
There is self parking in the building; I do not provide validation.
